February Family Newsletter
February 15, 2025
Dear Lowell Families,
Happy February! First, thank you so much for your support getting students online during our virtual snow days earlier in the month. That was rather unexpected, and we are proud of the ways our staff and students quickly pivoted to make that time in an online learning community happen.
Next week is midwinter break. Please note school is closed February 17-21. We look forward to seeing students back in the building on Monday, February 24.
The annual Lowell PTA School Dance is fast approaching! We hope your family will join us on Friday, February 28th from 6:00-7:30 PM. This is such a fun community event. Please note children may not be dropped off for the dance. There must be a guardian on-site actively supervising.
Does your child need vaccines? The Odessa Brown Children’s School-Based Health Center located in Room 101B will be offering childhood vaccines including flu shots during Lowell’s Dance on Friday, Feb. 28 from 5pm – 8:30pm. Students must be enrolled and pre-scheduled with the SBHC to be vaccinated. During this event, a legal guardian must remain with their student during their appointment.
Please contact Laurie Goff, Clinic Coordinator, at 206-947-3646 or email: laurie.goff@seattlechildrens.org to enroll and schedule your child’s “dance night” vaccine appointment by Thursday, February 27th. Also note the school-based health clinic is available throughout the school year! Regular clinic hours are M – F, 8:30am-5:00pm.
The Lowell Food Hub will be open again on Thursday, February 27th! The space currently has shelf stable and fresh foods, hygiene items, some baby supplies, and even hats and gloves for you to take home. Sign up to make a shopping appointment at the Lowell Food Hub
Wishing you a joy-filled midwinter break,
Ms. Chelsea Dziedzic, Lowell Principal
Ms. Antonia Gray, Lowell Assistant Principal
