December Family Newsletter
December Family Newsletter
December 16, 2024
Dear Lowell Families,
Here are a few final December reminders from the school:
School will release 1-hour early on Friday, December 20. Winter Break will be December 23-January 3. School will resume on Monday, January 6.
Students will be bringing their school devices and chargers home on Friday, December 20. This is just in case there is a snow day on January 6, requiring a switch to virtual learning. We encourage students to access learning games over the break as well. Please plan to return the devices and chargers to school right after the winter break.
Food Hub. The Lowell Food Hub is now closed until after winter break. Starting in January, the Food Hub will be open regularly on Thursdays from 9am-5pm by appointment and will reopen on Thursday, January 9th. To schedule, sign up here: https://calendly.com/crademacher/lowell_pantry_appointment
Donuts with Dziedzic/Family Forum — RESCHEDULED: Please join us for an informal coffee and donut breakfast on Friday, January 10th from 8:45-9:45 in the library. We will participate in a community circle, focused on sharing ideas and building relationships with other families and staff members.
Student Attendance Matters. Consistent attendance makes a difference for our students and community and is correlated with higher levels of student achievement. Our schoolwide goal this year is 92% attendance and no more than two absences per month (per student). Research shows that missing more than 2 days per month (10%) can have a negative impact on a student’s academic performance. When students must be absent, we expect that you will call the office at 206-252-3020 or email Shelby at shehrenmeeng@seattleschools.org If there are any health-related concerns (or you are unsure about whether or not your child is well enough to attend), you can contact our school Nurse Teri Ginster at tdginster1@seattleschools.org
As our time together this month wraps up, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to each one of our students and families. It is a pleasure to lead in a community that is so caring and collaborative, and our students are truly the BEST!
We send you all warm wishes for the upcoming holiday season,
Ms. Chelsea Dziedzic, Lowell Principal
Ms. Antonia Gray, Lowell Assistant Principal
